GU Energy - Roctane Energy Gels

GU Roctane Energy Gel differs from our original GU Energy Gel in that it contains more sodium, an electrolyte that assists in hydration, and even more branched-chain amino acids (leucine, valine, and isoleucine) that minimise mental tiredness and muscle damage than the original GU Energy Gel. Beta-alanine, an amino acid, aids in the production of the intramuscular buffer carnosine, whereas ornithine alpha-ketoglutarate aids in muscle regeneration.  The 100-calorie packets contain carbs (maltodextrin and fructose) that use non-competing pathways to aid in carbohydrate absorption and utilisation while minimising stomach irritation.
